Transportation Levy Projects

Approved by voters in November 2016, the 20-year, Neighborhood Safety, Connectivity and Congestion levy will help the city address a backlog of neighborhood safety, connectivity, sidewalk, bicycle, technology, congestion relief and maintenance projects.

Through a public process in early 2017, the City Council advanced an initial list of projects to be funded by the levy through 2018, as an amendment to the 2017-2023 Capital Investment Program (CIP) budget. The current list of levy projects builds on the initial list. In future years, the council will approve levy projects through the regular biennial budget process for the CIP.

Levy Program updates, budget hearing coming

The City Council is deliberating the 2019-2020 Operating Budget and the 2019-2025 Capital Investment Program (CIP) Plan (Public Involvement webpage) and held public hearings on June 4 and Aug. 6, 2018. A final hearing will take place in November. Public comment is encouraged. Bellevue’s budget is produced every two years and includes a seven-year capital budget. The CIP includes on-going programs and discrete project descriptions including two associated with the Neighborhood Safety, Connectivity and Congestion Levy: PW-R-198 Neighborhood Congestion Reduction and PW-R-199 Neighborhood Safety and Connectivity. An update on the Levy Program is scheduled for the Transportation Commission on Sept. 13 and the City Council on Sept. 17.

Projects eligible to receive levy funding fall into six categories. In some cases, projects are listed under more than one category. Future projects and links will be added as more information becomes available.
