Check the Traffic Advisories map and text below for the latest information about construction work that can affect travel on city streets, sidewalks and trails. (Note: For information on road closures related to ice, snow or flooding, please see the city’s Emergencies and Extreme Weather page).

South Bellevue​  

  • NEW -- Bellevue Way SE: 12/10-14 and 12/17-19 (extended) 6 am - 4 pm. Please follow the direction of flaggers and signage to safely access your destination.
    • One lane of Bellevue Way SE between the South Bellevue Station site and the ‘Y’ at 112th Avenue SE will be closed.
    • Two lanes will be maintained in the peak direction: northbound in the morning and southbound in the afternoon. Cones and lane delineators will be used to guide traffic along Bellevue Way SE.
    • In order to help people get to and from Bellevue’s Magic Season activities, the contractor will restore Bellevue Way SE to two lanes in each direction by 4 pm.
  • I-90: Work to construct the long span light rail track over I-90 continues. Typical work hours are Mon-Fri (Sat morning) 8 pm - 7 am. Occasional night work may also occur on Sat (Sun morning). Project info     

Central Bellevue (Downtown) 

  • No new updates.

North Bellevue​ (BelRed)

  • Intersection closure of NE 20th St at 136th Pl NE: Ongoing through the morning of Fri, 12/14, 8 pm to 6 am. Crews will close the intersection nightly to install underground utilities.
  • UPDATED -- 136th PL NE from Spring Blvd to NE 20th Ave: Weekdays through 12/21, 8 pm - 6 am. Full closure for excavations of utility crossings.
           

Ongoing general construction impacts ​

  • Snowflake Lane -  Ongoing through Mon, 12/24. Nightly performances will require the daily closures of the following streets:    
    • Bellevue Way NE, from NE 4th St to NE 8th St, will be closed 6:45 - 7:45 pm. The parade begins at 7 pm.
    • NE 6th St, from 105th Ave NE to Bellevue Way NE, will be closed 6 - 7:45 p.m.
    • During closures on Bellevue Way NE, visitors to the Bellevue Arts Museum may park in the Westin Hotel parking garage, accessible from 105th Ave NE. 
  • 164th Pl SE between SE 35th St and 163rd Ave SE at Vasa Creek: 24/7 closure with access for residents to driveways through early 2019. Map
  • 161st Ave SE between Eastgate Way and SE 31st: Begins 11/12 for approximately 2 weeks. Weekdays, 7 am – 4 pm.
  • Construction of bridges in 2018: New bridges at Cascade Key and Newport Key to improve water flow in Coal Creek and decrease flood risk. Work hours are 7:30 am to 4 pm. Construction is allowed to take place on Saturdays after 9 am, if needed; notice will be provided to adjacent residents when Saturday work is scheduled. Project website
    • Newport Key Bridge: Ongoing. Newport Key is reopened to traffic and pedestrians. However, the bridge construction will likely continue through December 2018. The new bridge at Newport Key will look very similar to the bridge constructed last year on Skagit Key.
    • Cascade Key Bridge: The full lane near Coal Creek is reopened but construction will continue through December 2018. While school is in session, there will be flaggers during peak hours to help control the flow of traffic. During other times, cars and pedestrians will continue using the temporary traffic light. The new bridge at Cascade Key will look very similar to the bridge recently on Skagit Key, except it will be constructed at the same level as the existing road (not raised).
  • Sunset and Heathfield Pump Stations and Force Main Upgrade Project Project website
    • SE 35th Pl: Weekdays, 6:30 am to 7 pm (equipment will not start until 7 am).Single lane closures on sections of SE 35th Pl sections between SE Eastgate Way and 162nd Pl SE.  Both lanes of traffic will be open outside of work hours.       
    • 163rd Ave SE: Weekdays, 6:30 am to 7 pm (equipment will not start until 7 am). Single lane closure on 163rd Ave SE.  Both lanes of traffic will be open outside of work hours.
    • W Lake Sammamish Pkwy: Weekdays, 9 am to 3 pm. Single lane closure on  between the Sunset Pump Station and SE 38th Street. Both lanes of traffic will be open outside of work hours.
  • NE 12th Street at 108th Ave NE: On-going. Drivers should expect a long term right lane closure in the westbound direction of NE 12th St between 110th Ave and 112th Ave NE. This closure is necessary to maintain safe vehicular distance from shoring along the edge of road that has been installed to temporarily support the pedestrian bridge structure.
  • Woodridge turn restrictions: On-going through December. Weekdays, 4-7 pm. The changes will restrict all traffic (bikes and buses are exempt) from traveling southbound on 128th Ave SE to eastbound SE 32nd St.  Additionally, traffic will be restricted from southbound 128th Ave SE to westbound SE 30th St. Project website           
  • Lake Hills: Ongoing through December. Construction on King County’s Eastgate Interceptor Rehabilitation project, including work within the Lake Hills Greenbelt Park. More information
