Check the Traffic Advisories map and text below for the latest information about construction work that can affect travel on city streets, sidewalks and trails. (Note: For information on road closures related to ice, snow or flooding, please see the city’s Emergencies and Extreme Weather page).

New and updated traffic impacts are listed first. Expect traffic delays or use an alternate route, if possible. Please obey construction signs and flaggers. 

General construction

  • UPDATED -- 158th Pl SE from Lake Hills to Main: Mon - Fri, Ongoing through 8/31, 7 am - 5 pm. Contractor will be installing a watermain line.
  • NEW -- NE 8th Street between 132nd Ave NE and 134th Ave NE: 4/22 - 5/4, Mon - Fri, 24 hours. Westbound lanes on NE 8th Street will be closed. The westbound traffic will be shifted to use one of the eastbound lanes; maintaining one lane in each direction. Thus not a directional closure, but a lane shift and reduction.
  • NEW --  150th Ave SE between SE 46th St North to 152nd Pl SE: Ongoing through 4/22, Mon - Fri, 7 am to 5 pm. No parking allowed on residential streets. Cars will be towed at owners expense.
  • NEW -- Lakemont Blvd & SE Newport Way (Intersection – ADA upgrades): Ongoing through 4/30. Mon – Fri, 7 am – 5 pm. Expect lane closures and delays, use alternate routes.

South Bellevue​ [Ongoing impacts] Construction alert

  • NEW -- Bellevue Way SE between the South Bellevue Station site and 112th Ave SE: Sat, 4/20, 7 am - 6 pm. Closure is to safely deliver and unload rebar needed to construct the track slab in the light rail trench. Two way traffic will be maintained on Bellevue Way SE.
  • NEW -- West side of Bellevue Way SE, between 112th Ave SE and 113th Ave SE: Expected to begin Fri, 4/19 and last approximately four weeks, 7 am - 6 pm. Installation of curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveway connections. Weekend work is scheduled over two weekends, 4/27-28 and 5/11-12.
  • NEW -- I-405 to westbound I-90 overnight ramp closures and lane reductions on westbound I-90: Mon, 4/22 – Wed, 4/24 and Thurs, April 25, 8 pm to 5 am. This work is expected to last three nights. Due to inclement weather or unforeseen issues, dates and times are subject to change.
  • NEW -- Bellevue Way SE southbound right turn closure on to SE 30th St/113th Ave SE: Mon - Fri, 4/19 - 26, 7 am - 2 pm. Closure necessary to allow safe access to install catch basins.    

Central Bellevue​ [Ongoing impacts]       

  • NEW -- NE 8th St between 116th Ave NE and 120th Ave NE full closure (adjacent to Whole Foods Market), Mon – Thurs, 4/15 - 4/18, 11:59 pm to 5:00 am. Construction alert

North Bellevue​ (BelRed)   [Ongoing impacts]  

  • 136th Place NE from NE Spring Blvd to NE 20th St: Mon.-Fri, Ongoing through 4/19, 8 pm to 6 am. Local business access maintained until 10pm. Construction Alert
  • NE Spring Blvd/136th Place NE intersection (extending to 137th Pl NE): On-going  through July 2019. One-way traffic on NE Spring Blvd. Local access will be maintained to businesses on 137th Pl NE. Construction Alert.
  • NE Spring Blvd from 134th Ave NE to 137th Pl NE: Mon - Fri, Ongoing through 4/19, 10 pm to 6 am. Nightly road closures to facilitate the installation of water, sewer, and gas lines. Construction alert                     


Ongoing general construction impacts    

  • Lakemont Blvd & SE Newport Way Intersection (ADA upgrades): Ongoing through 4/30. Mon – Fri, 7 am – 5 pm.
  • 150th & SE 38th (east to 153rd Ave SE, 153rd & SE 39th St, 154th Ave SE to SE 41st St and 155th Ave SE to SE Newport Way): Mon - Fri, Ongoing through 4/8, 7 am to 5 pm. No parking allowed on residential streets (Mon. – Fri., 7 am – 5 pm). Cars will be towed at owners expense. Expect lane closures and delays, use alternate routes.
  • Bel-Red Rd and 148th Ave NE and Bel-Red Rd and 152nd Pl NE: Ongoing. Work hours: Mon - Fri, 6:30 am - 3:30 pm and Sat, 9 am - 6 pm. The Utilities Department is upgrading the existing water system facilities. Construction alert
  • SE 6th Street between Bellevue Way and 102nd Ave SE: Mon - Fri, Ongoing to 5/3, 24 hour closure with local access only. Street will be closed for sidewalk, wall, driveway approaches, paving and restoration. There will be local access to the affected houses and condo buildings. Detour will be signed and well marked.
  • 116th Ave NE & NE 12th St: Ongoing, 24 hours, 7 days a week. Westbound NE 12th will be reduced to one lane at 116th. Construction Alert
  • Sunset and Heathfield Pump Stations and Force Main Upgrade Project: Ongoing. Project website
      • SE 35th Pl: Weekdays, 6:30 am to 7 pm (equipment will not start until 7 am).Single lane closures on sections of SE 35th Pl sections between SE Eastgate Way and 162nd Pl SE.  Both lanes of traffic will be open outside of work hours.       
      • 163rd Ave SE: Weekdays, 6:30 am to 7 pm (equipment will not start until 7 am). Single lane closure on 163rd Ave SE.  Both lanes of traffic will be open outside of work hours.           
      • W Lake Sammamish Pkwy: Weekdays, 9 am to 3 pm. Single lane closure on  between the Sunset Pump Station and SE 38th Street. Both lanes of traffic will be open outside of work hours.
